A letter from your Boston NAPS co-founders

Founders Jamie O'Day & Emily Silver

Thank you for visiting Boston NAPS. We are thrilled to share this exciting time with you! Working as Registered Nurses in Boston, MA, we have had the opportunity to teach labor classes to expecting mothers, while working full time on a labor and delivery unit. We were inspired to create this company so we can now complete the pregnancy journey by helping mothers and newborns transition to the home setting. We feel privileged and blessed each day to share in the most memorable moments of our clients' lives.

Our personal and professional experiences have helped us to understand that having a baby comes with many new questions and can feel overwhelming. We feel confident that we can provide you with the answers and support that you need during this time. At Boston NAPS, our Registered Nurses are hand selected from the many Boston hospitals and have real experience and knowledge caring for mothers and newborns. Together we work with our families to match you with a nurse that will meet your specific needs while fitting in with your family.

We believe that having a Registered Nurse, with true experience, will ease your transition when going home from the hospital. Whether you need assistance during the day with feedings and diaper care, or a good night's sleep, we will be at your side to help along the way. We want you to feel comfortable and safe caring for the newest addition to your family.

We look forward to caring for you and your newborn!

Sincerely,

Jamie O'Day and Emily Silver

Meet Your Expert Prenatal & Postnatal Registered Nurses

Jamie O'Day, BSN, RN, CLC

Jamie is the co-founder of Boston NAPS, LLC and is originally from Rhode Island. After graduating from Villanova University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Jamie worked as a Labor and Delivery RN in many hospitals over the course of seven years. During her time working in the hospital, Jamie had her first baby, Catherine, in February of 2015.

Since the birth of her daughter, Jamie has given up her career as a Labor and Delivery nurse (although will always consider herself one at heart), and manages Boston NAPS full time. She enjoys the time she gets to spend talking and working with clients to ensure they feel comfortable and well cared for as they transition home with their babies.

Jamie is also a Certified Lactation Counselor, and especially enjoys talking and working with breastfeeding mothers in order to assist them in reaching their breastfeeding goals. She also works as a part-time clinical instructor, teaching future nurses about Women's and Family Health, at Northeastern University.

When Jamie is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her two daughters (Catherine and Mackenzie), and taking their dog, Brutus, for walks in South Boston where they live. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and relaxing with family and friends.

Emily Silver Boston NAPS

Emily Silver is the co-founder of Boston NAPS, LLC.  After graduating from Boston College, Emily began working on a medical floor for a few years before transferring over to labor and delivery.  During her eight years working as an RN on these floors, she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing and her Family Nurse Practitioner license.

Emily currently works in a private practice in Brookline seeing OB/GYN patients.  Her passion lies in education and she works as a maternity clinical instructor for undergraduate nursing students for both Boston College and Northeastern University.

Emily utilizes her Nurse Practitioner license and Certified Lactation Counselor license to spend time during the week doing in home breastfeeding visits for both new and experienced breastfeeding mothers. One of Emily's favorite part of Boston NAPS is visiting new mothers during their first few days home from the hospital. She spends time helping them adjust to life at home with a newborn through educating parents and providing support during this new milestone in their lives.

Emily lives in Charlestown with her husband and two daughters (Grace and Madelyn). When she isn't working, she enjoys going on walks with her family and sweet yellow lab, Maisey, around town. She also enjoys beach trips and traveling.
