Yoga Babes: A Mommy & Baby Series

What: Six week series for moms and their babies 0-6 months

When: Monday, 6/12 - 7/24 from 1:30-3PM  (no class July 3rd)

Where: Open Doors - Hingham

Cost: $150 for the series ($30 drop-in class)

Kristin Niemi of @studioartyoga and Jamie O'Day of Boston NAPS have teamed up with Open Doors Hingham to bring moms and their babies an amazing 6 week series. This series combines mommy and baby yoga with a discussion/support group that provides new and experienced moms the opportunity to bond with their babies through yoga while also meeting and supporting other moms.

This weekly 90 minute program is designed to create a safe and trusted environment to best support families as they navigate through those first few months home with baby. The first 45 minutes will be led by Kristin, a yoga instructor and mother of two boys, and will include stretching, strengthening, and savasana all including your bundle of joy. This is a great opportunity for moms to tone muscle and regain strength postpartum.

The second 45 minutes will be led by Jamie, a nurse and mother of two girls, and will include a discussion topic each week for parental support as well as tips and tricks for overcoming many of the common hurdles encountered during the first few weeks and months with baby. Discussion topics include: Health & Wellness, Sleep, Parenting & Working, Attachment & Relationships, and more! And you'll have an opportunity to ask any questions you have about your postpartum care and the care of your little one.

Take this time to bond not only with baby, but with your fellow mommies too! Previous yoga experience not required, but please check with your doctor before starting this or any other form of exercise postpartum. Program is for mothers and their babies age 0-6 months.

Your Best Self Before Babies: A pre-pregnancy yoga workshop

  • Asana Charlestown

Spring is a symbolic point in the year when we dedicate time to clear out and start fresh and new. As we start this new season, we welcome you to the studio in a very special workshop dedicated to women who are beginning a new phase of life - planning for baby!

This 90 minute workshop focuses on the phase before pregnancy and to those who have already begun the process of "trying". The first 60 minutes of class, led by Sarah Harmon, will be centered on self-love, acceptance, and self-awareness of body, mind, and spirit. Through yoga, breath, and meditation, you will leave class with the tools to manage the sometimes stressful (and overlooked) process of thinking about or trying to get pregnant.

The class will conclude with a 30 minute Q&A with the co-founders of Boston NAPS, Emily Silver, a women's health nurse practitioner, and Jamie O'Day, a maternal/child health RN. This discussion will focus on understanding the female body before pregnancy and a guide on assisting you with the pre-pregnancy and conception process.
